Harmonies Like No Other

Hey there everyone .Being a big music fan,i thought it'd be perfect to start off my blogging career by reviewing some of the music i love. At the top of the list happens to be the melodies churned out by the talented country band Little Big Town. For most of you who wouldn't know , they are a four-member band comprising of two men(Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet) and two women(Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Roads).
The album i'm reviewing,The Road To Here, is their second and most successful release in their career spanning more than ten years.

Ok!! Let's get straight to the music ,shall we??

The general tempo of the album sways from a really high up-tempo bluegrass country to softer subtle melodies which represent the current contemporary sound. The band shares lead vocals pretty much equally for the entire duration ,with the rest singing harmonies.
The album kick-starts with the up-tempo "Good As Gone" which really sets the pace for the rest of the tunes.I instantly got hooked onto this song because of the amazing guitaring accompanied by four amazing voices.
The next two songs "Boondocks" and "Bones" reminded me a lot of Fleetwood Mac for some reason! Next up was "Bring It On Home".My personal favourite.Amazing lyrics telling you the story of a broken heart. The female members of the band kick it up in the next four songs of the album "Wounded","Mean Streak","Looking For A Reason" and "Stay". Karen's and Kimberly's voices just seem to melt into each others' in flawless fashion. Jimi starts off track no.9 "A Little More You" before the whole group comes together to harmonize their way through.I loved this track too for its simple catchy lyrics. The album concludes with the fun-filled track "Welcome To The Family".
On a scale of 10 , i'd give this album a rating of 8.5 . Highly Recommended to fans of the Eagles,Fleetwood Mac and other 80's bands!!
